What needs to be understood, is that Tokyo is both a city and prefectures (state), like New York, New York. Some of the places we visit will be outside the Tokyo Prefecture, but still thought of by (at least me) as "Greater Metropolitan Tokyo." Maybe they are really part of the Kantō Region??? I realize there is so much I do not know!
So, while we are touring 'Tokyo' we are starting today in Yokohama, the capital city of Kanagawa Prefecture.
It lies on Tokyo Bay, south of Tokyo. It is the second-largest city in Japan by population, and the most populous municipality of Japan.

Yokohama is the home of Chinatown, this morning's destination.
